Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement)
This longsword has a heavy boulder fused to its blade, making it more hammer than sword. Legends claim that whoever pulls the blade from the stone will be granted divine might. Unfortunately, some impatient brute simply lifted the whole thing, brought it away, and wielded it as is.
You need to have a Strength score of 17 to wield and attune to this weapon while the stone is attached.
The weapon deals 2d6 + your Strength modifier + 1 bludgeoning damage instead of the longsword’s normal damage.
While attuned to this weapon, you gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with it.
In addition, while you remain attuned to this weapon, you gain a +1 bonus to ability checks and saving throws.
Curse. The sword curses any unworthy wielder who attempts to use it while it remains stuck in the stone. While attuned to this weapon, you have disadvantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws.
This curse can only be lifted by dislodging the sword from the stone. To do so, a creature must:
- Be attuned to the weapon.
- Receive the blessing of a Good aligned deity (DM’s discretion).
- Use an action to draw the blade from the sword, succeeding on a DC 20 Charisma saving throw.
If all requirements are met, the blade seamlessly phases free of the stone, ending the curse and transforming into a Sword Without Stone, and leaving behind a Stone Without Sword.
