Said to be the very armor worn by the Cavern King himself, this masterfully crafted plate is adorned with ancient dwarvish runes, offering its wearer unmatched protection and resilience.
This item functions as +3 plate armor. While worn, you gain resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
The runes inscribed upon the armor react to force damage, absorbing its impact and converting it into power. When you take force damage, you can choose to release the stored energy in one of two ways:
- Shockwave Pulse: As a reaction, you force all creatures within 15 feet of you to make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, they take 1d8 force damage.
- Empowered Strike: The energy is stored in your next attack, causing it to deal an additional 1d8 force damage on a hit.
Once activated, the armor’s runes grow dim and cannot absorb force damage again until the start of your next turn.
