This mysterious orb shifts its form and essence to take on the properties of other magical items. During a long rest, the orb transforms into a different magic item of your choice, provided that item is one rarity tier lower than the Morphing Curio’s current rarity. The transformation is seamless, replicating all mechanical properties of the chosen item, but its appearance may retain subtle formless characteristics, such as a spot of missing colour, or incorrect engravings.
Once the Morphing Curio has taken on a new form, it remains that item until the next long rest, at which point it can either retain its current form or transform again into a different eligible item. The item cannot mimic artifacts or consumable magic items, and any charges, uses, or limited effects do not carry over when it changes form.
