Longren (Dragonfolk)

Longren are said to descend from the divine dragons of ancient tales. Their forebears are remembered as symbols of luck, power, divine grace, and good fortune, and many Longren seek to build legacies worthy of that inheritance.

Longren Traits

As a Longren, you have the following traits.

  • Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 2, and your Dexterity score increases by 1.
  • Creature Type. You are a Humanoid.
  • Size. You are Medium.
  • Speed. Your walking speed is 30 feet.
  • Age. Though the original dragons are said to be ageless, Longren have been recorded to live for up to 200 years. Many Longren are known to build enduring legacies.
  • Alignment. Longren tend to respect and embody strong social values, often leaning toward lawful alignments when they settle near civilizations. However, frontier Longren can be as temperamental as nature itself.
  • Divine Luck. When you fail an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can reroll the d20, and you must use the new roll. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
  • Dragonflight. As a Bonus Action, you manifest the will of your dragon ancestors and borrow their ability for wingless flight and levitation. For 10 minutes, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed. Starting at 5th level, you can hover while flying with this trait. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
  • Dragon Lineage. Choose one of the following lineages.

Dragon Lineages

River

  • Riverborn. You have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed.
  • Amphibious. You can breathe air and water.

Mountain

  • Mountain Sense. You have Tremorsense with a range of 10 feet. You can also detect the position of precious stones and metals within its range, but you don’t detect their nature or quality.
  • Extended Tremorsense. As a Bonus Action, you can extend the range of your Tremorsense to 60 feet for 10 minutes. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a Short or Long Rest.

Sky

  • Skyborne Flight. You can activate your Dragonflight without taking a Bonus Action during your turn. In addition, when you finish a Short Rest, you regain one expended use of Dragonflight.
  • Enduring Flight. When you use Dragonflight, it lasts for 1 hour.
