Path of the Passionheart
Passionheart Barbarians are warriors who transform their fury into a captivating display of passion and artistry. Through powerful performances of song, music, and dance, they inspire their allies to fight harder and persevere against overwhelming odds. Fueled by their unyielding spirit, these barbarians turn the battlefield into a stage, where their passion becomes a weapon as fierce as their blades.
Level 3: Battle Muse
You gain proficiency in Performance and one musical instrument of your choice.
You can wield any musical instrument with which you have proficiency as an improvised weapon, dealing 1d6 + your Strength modifier damage; the damage type is appropriate to the object, as agreed upon with the DM.
Level 3: Performer’s Rage
When you enter a rage, you can unleash a powerful battle cry that inspires your allies. Select a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) within 30 feet of you. Their next attack roll gains a bonus of 1d4. While raging, you can perform another battle cry as a bonus action or whenever you land a critical hit.
The bonus increase based on your Barbarian level: 1d6 at level 9, and 1d8 at level 14.
Level 6: Amplified Will
When you or a creature within 30 feet of you fails an ability check or saving throw, you can use your reaction to add 1d6 to the roll, potentially turning a failure into a success.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses after a long rest.
Level 10: Passionate Performance:
When combat begins but before initiative is rolled, you can unleash a surge of inspiring emotion. Alternatively, while you are raging, you can use this feature on your turn (no action required).
When you do, you and a number of creatures of your choice equal to your proficiency bonus within 60 feet who can see or hear you gain the following benefits for 10 minutes:
- You gain a bonus to initiative rolls equal to your Charisma modifier. If initiative has already been rolled, this bonus is applied at the start of the next round.
- When you wield a musical instrument as an improvised weapon, its damage die becomes a d8.
- You gain a bonus to your Armor Class equal to your Charisma modifier.
- Once per turn, when a creature affected by this feature deals damage, it can add bonus damage to one damage die of the roll. The bonus equals your Charisma modifier or the creature’s, whichever is higher.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
Level 14: Anthem of Glory:
While creatures are under the effects of your Passionate Performance, their attack rolls score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the dice.
Additionally, you regain all expended uses of Amplified Will at the end of the performance.
