Veilwalker Ranger

Veilwalkers are rangers who have mastered the art of blending with the mists and shadows of the natural world. Harnessing an innate connection to the Mistveil, a realm of fog and shadow, they move unseen, striking from the unknown and vanishing before their enemies can retaliate. Whether protecting their homeland, stalking prey, or guarding ancient secrets hidden within the mists, Veilwalkers are elusive and ethereal hunters.

Level 3: Mist Whisperer

You have an innate connection to the Mistveil and the elements. You can add your proficiency bonus on ability checks to detect creatures and objects obscured by illusion magic.

Additionally, nonmagical weather conditions do not impose disadvantage on your Wisdom (Perception) checks.

Level 3: Enshrouding Veil

As a bonus action, you can teleport to an unoccupied space you can see within 30 ft of you. When you do, a spectral veil cloaks your form. Until the start of your next turn, attack rolls made against you are made with disadvantage.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest. You can also use this feature by expending a 2nd level spell slot or higher.

Level 7: Veilbound Mobility

Your movement becomes fluid and instinctive in places touched by the Mistveil. Your movement speed increases by 10ft when under the effects of Enshrouding Veil. While you are in an area that is lightly or heavily obscured, you can take the Dash action as a Bonus Action.

In addition, you can see through lightly obscured areas as if they were clear, and through heavily obscured areas as if they were lightly obscured.

Level 11: Cloak of Shadows

While attacking from an obscured area or while you are under the effects of Enshrouding Veil, you deal an additional 1d8 damage on the first damage roll you deal on your turn.

Additionally, creatures have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Intelligence (Investigation) checks to locate you while you are obscured or under the effects of Veil of Mist.

Level 15: Agent of the Veil

You can move seamlessly between obscured areas, striking with the influence of the Mistveil. As an Action, you can teleport to an obscured area within 60 feet that you can see. When you do so, you can make one of the following actions:

  • You make one weapon attack as part of this Action.
  • You become Invisible until the start of your next turn. You cannot make weapon attacks while Invisible in this way.

Additionally, once per turn when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can force it to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature is blinded until the start of its next turn.
