Calligrapher
Wizards of the Calligrapher tradition practice the ancient art of inscribing magic into sacred script. Through brush, ink, and disciplined strokes, they bind arcane power into flowing glyphs, talismans, and written forms. Their spellbooks become living archives of prepared magic, where power is not only remembered—but stored, refined, and released with precision.
Level 3: Calligrapher’s Discipline
You gain proficiency with calligrapher’s supplies.
When you copy a wizard spell into your spellbook or create a spell scroll, the gold cost is halved.
Level 3: Calligraphic Script
Your spellbook can store spells in special calligraphic inscriptions, allowing you to prepare magic in advance.
At the end of a long rest, you can expend spell slots to inscribe prepared wizard spells into your spellbook as calligraphic script. The total combined levels of the spell slots expended in this way cannot exceed half your wizard level (rounded down).
The maximum level of a spell you can inscribe increases as you gain Wizard levels: 3rd level at level 3, 4th level at level 9, and 5th level at level 11.
While holding your spellbook, you can cast an inscribed spell. The spell uses its normal casting time and other rules, and counts as a wizard spell you cast. Once cast, the inscription fades.
You must have the spell prepared when you inscribe it, and you must provide any required material components when casting it.
Level 6: Swift Ritual Script
You can bind ritual magic into your calligraphic script with greater efficiency. Once per long rest, when you cast a wizard spell with the Ritual tag from your calligraphic script, you can cast it as a Magic action instead of its normal casting time. When you do so, the spell does not expend a spell slot or consume the inscription.
You can use this feature twice at 13th level and three times at 17th level.
Level 10: Silent Inscription
Your calligraphy allows you to shape spells without overt motion or speech.
When you cast a spell from your calligraphic script, you can ignore either the verbal or somatic components of the spell (your choice when you cast it).
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Level 14: Perfected Script
Your mastery of arcane inscription refines and stabilizes your magic.
When you cast a spell from your calligraphic script that requires concentration, you add your Intelligence modifier to Constitution saving throws you make to maintain concentration on that spell.
Additionally, when you cast a spell from your calligraphic script, you gain a +1 bonus to your spell save DC for that spell.
